December Newsletter

18 December 2017

Wow, is it possible that 2018 is on the horizon? Looking back at this year, it has been one filled with excitement, hard work & growth at Waverley Hills. We have also had our fair share of challenges, like the drought, but we stayed positive & resourceful throughout the year.

With social media it’s hard to inform you of anything brand new so our most important message for this festive newsletter is simply, THANK YOU.  We want to thank you for your support & being our ambassadors! Our Loyalty Membership keeps growing each year & we love getting to know all our clients & their favourite wines.
Our tasting room has a new friendly face behind the counter… A big welcome to Maryka Viljoen who joined the team in October. The tasting room is also boasting a few more new ‘faces’ with the refresh of the estate range labels. We hope you love the new look and it’s just gets better… we will be revealing the new Premium Range label in the first quarter of 2018.

For your Christmas stockings, our TOP 3 PICKS would definitely include GRENACHE 2016 – a great summer red wine – which was awarded Overall Winner at the Getaway Green Awards 2017 plus 4 Star Platter’s. Next would be SAUVIGNON BLANC/ SEMILLON 2017 which is bursting with fresh fruit flavours with a crisp finish – awarded with both silver Veritas and Michelangelo awards. Then lastly, our ‘Wine of the Month’ is the SHIRAZ 2013, delicate spice and well balanced plus a saving of 10% for December at R81.00 per bottle.

*  AWARD WINNING WINES  *
We certainly have an achiever with the Viognier/Semillon/Chardonnay 2015 achieving a Gold at Michelangelo Awards, Blogger’s Choice at Getaway Green Awards and 4 Stars in the Platter’s Wine Guide. The Shiraz/Mourvedre/Viognier 2013 and CW Reserve Shiraz 2014 also received 4 Stars each in the Platter’s Wine Guide 2018. The CW Reserve Shiraz 2017 won Gold at The SA Young Wine Show and was also awarded the best wine from the Tulbagh region.

The RESTAURANT has been buzzing with year end functions, weddings and conferences. It’s been wonderful to be part of some many great occasions! Another highlight is our new summer menu. Chef Francois always has a few tricks up his sleeve with each new menu.
